Baby Food Dog Treats.

Dog treats are the most expensive things, if you want to get your dog good quality treats. Lately there have been numerous dog deaths due to contaminated food/treats being produced over seas. Totally scary. Especially for a woman who thinks of her dog as her child!
Just look at her.  She thinks she's human as well. She sleeps in bed with a pillow, covers up to her neck, and her arm under the pillow. Just like me. Dogs are super smart.

Anywho, I've been searching high and low for an at home dog treat recipe that doesn't require a load of specialty products. I finally came across a recipe that only requires 2 ingredients. 2 (4 oz) jars of baby food (with NO artificial preservatives or onion products, since those can be fatal to dogs), and whole wheat flour.

You mix the 2 ingredients together. I added an additional 2 tbsp of water because initially it was crumbling and wouldn't stick together.

This will create a dough. Just lightly flour the surface you are working on.

And roll out the dough to as thick or as thin as you would like. Keep in mind, they will puff up a tad as they are baked.

Once you've got it rolled out you can use cookie cutters (for fancy treats) or a simple pizza cutter (which is what I used).
Cut your treats and place them on a pan that is lined with parchment paper.

It definitely makes quite a bit.  Of course I had to make my dog a special treat.
L for Lilly Bug!  (:

Just bake your treats on 350 for 20 minutes. Allow them to cool completely before you store them though.

If you want them soft, store them in a ziplock container.
If you want them hard, to form biscuits, store them in a brown paper bag.

Lilly love them!
